Put your story text right on your pictures
Many picture books place the words on top of the illustration, on a soft band of color that melts into the scene. You can now make pages like that in Canvas.
Step 1. Open Canvas and drag your illustration in from your computer. Drop several at once and they spread out instead of stacking.
Step 2. Add a shape where your text will go and stretch it to fit. Shapes and speech bubbles now stretch to any width or height, and their outlines stay even.
Step 3. Click Style and move the Soft edge slider until the band fades into the picture. You can change the outline color and thickness there too.
Step 4. Type your story text on top.
Canvas is part of the Creator Plan.
Find any image in seconds
After a book or two, a character folder can hold hundreds of images. Three views at the top of every creation tool make them easy to find:
- Single shows one image large, with all the editing buttons.
- Grid shows your whole folder at once, so you can scan it in seconds. Character folders you open from Home now start in Grid.
- Favourites shows only the images you’ve hearted. Click the heart on every picture you might use in your book, and when it’s time to build your pages, they’re all in one place.
Have fun creating your story illustrations!
